About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plant utilities and process systems, including boilers, chillers, compressors, HVAC, and water treatment systems.
- Use control room systems such as SCADA or DCS to track equipment performance and adjust process parameters via PLCs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and chemical handling procedures.
- Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot malfunctions in utility or process systems to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to support repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Analyze system performance to recommend adjustments for improved efficiency and reduced energy consumption.
- Respond effectively to system alarms, failures, or emergencies to minimize production impact.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including system performance records, maintenance logs, and daily shift reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a 2-3-2 Pitman schedule, including overtime and holidays as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a keen sense of urgency during emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a control room operation environment.
- Experience with HVAC, boilers, cooling towers, water treatment (RO systems), and power distribution.
- Associate's degree or vocational training in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent military or technical training in power plant or industrial systems.
