Plant Unit Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and test operations of units to ensure continuity of service and operational safety
• Install, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment
• Coordinate operating activities and maintenance to remove equipment from service when necessary
• Record and compute performance tests and maintain logs, records, and fuel inventories
• Direct the work of others and oversee inspection or construction work in progress when supervision is unavailable
• Work overtime as required to respond to emergency conditions or maintain service continuity

Requirements

• High School or Vocational School education
• At least 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician on gas turbine peaking units or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain TWIC credentials within six months
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb, crawl, stoop, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to pass required employment physicals, including hearing and vision exams

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of utility or industrial facility materials practices
• Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
