Plant Technician

Responsibilities

• Safely operate power plant equipment from the Control Room
• Monitor plant performance and take corrective actions based on alarms
• Control plant process and electrical distribution through DCS and other devices
• Conduct regular equipment rounds and correct operational problems
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist maintenance groups with repairs
• Perform boiler and cooling tower water quality testing and chemical handling
• Maintain accurate logs and records of plant operations
• Provide leadership to less experienced individuals and act in supervisor's absence

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience performing similar work
• Experience in a power or process environment preferred
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform prolonged standing, sitting, or walking
• Must possess basic hand tools as per company list
• Strong aptitude in math, mechanical ability, and production control
