Plant Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major maintenance on fluid and mechanical systems and ancillary equipment
• Support pre and post system operations for the Operations Facility
• Conduct regular rounds and take readings on plant consumables, equipment, and sub-systems
• Troubleshoot system and component failures and anomalies under the guidance of senior technicians
• Perform panel and automation operations for various fluids including fuel, LOX, and hydraulic systems
• Maintain detailed logs to record significant and historical events
• Complete Safe Plan of Action forms and Safety Observation Reports
• Assist with the setup, installation, checkout, and teardown of sub-systems required for research operations

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• 4 years of experience in gas compressor or plant operations (high pressure air/gas)
• General knowledge of mechanical systems
• Ability to read and identify symbols on mechanical schematics and drawings
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with power generating equipment
• Knowledge of OSHA Red Tag and equipment Lockout/Tagout standards
• Experience with plant/equipment maintenance and reliability
