About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage production employees through scheduling, monitoring, and hands-on assistance
- Lead by example to ensure all tasks are conducted in a safe manner
- Monitor equipment and facility operations by reviewing logs, reports, and inspections
- Manage and track daily production quality to meet established parameters
- Assist with production and maintenance tasks, including loading, unloading, and equipment work
- Take a lead role in locomotive and rail safety training
- Assist with inventory controls, including measuring and sampling
- Review and write operational reports and attend company meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Agricultural, Industrial, or Biosystems preferred)
- Ability to work rotating night and day shifts
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize employee work schedules to ensure timely project completion
- Willingness to relocate within the Midwest upon successful completion of the program
