About the role

Responsibilities

  • Drive quality strategy and objectives for the Consumer Brands business unit using appropriate reporting tools.
  • Lead Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Risk Assessments, developing corrective actions based on incident investigations.
  • Manage the quality control laboratory and team, including reporting, trending, and analysis of microbiological results.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and report monthly on status and trends.
  • Maintain training materials and instruct associates in microbiology procedures and hygiene processes.
  • Oversee pest control processes and documentation.
  • Manage customer and supplier complaints, actively monitoring supplier quality issues.
  • Support global audit management, including internal, hygiene, and external certification audits.
  • Verify and validate hygienic design requirements for new plant systems and equipment.
  • Interface with R&D on new innovations, trials, and analytical method development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, biology, microbiology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial microbiology field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hygienic manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with equipment design to assist in troubleshooting plant hygiene issues.
  • Strong influential leadership and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
  • Experience managing microbial laboratories.
  • Proficiency in identifying microorganisms using traditional and automated technology.
  • Knowledge of chemistry and the ability to carry out relevant departmental test methods.
