Plant Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate thermal plant controls and equipment safely and efficiently in compliance with permits
• Monitor facility operations and make adjustments to achieve optimal performance
• Perform and document daily operations, safety, and equipment condition checks
• Inspect machinery and communicate repair needs to maintenance staff
• Assist maintenance staff with necessary repairs as needed
• Maintain a clean work environment and clean equipment as scheduled
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns promptly to management

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• 2 years of experience in equipment troubleshooting/repair (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or combustion systems)
• Experience operating and monitoring computerized plant processing equipment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and regulatory permits
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Ability to work third shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and variable hours including overtime and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school graduates
• Knowledge of equipment inspection, preventative maintenance, and cleaning standards
