About the Company

Bluestem Biosciences uses American corn and existing bioethanol infrastructure to produce critical chemicals domestically. Our proprietary biomanufacturing process represents a new, cost-effective way to produce platform chemicals at scale.

Responsibilities

• Operate the plant daily on a designated shift schedule to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operations
• Monitor and control biochemical production systems, including upstream fermentation and downstream purification equipment
• Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and initial commissioning/startup activities
• Strictly follow and enforce Site Safety Protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Process Safety Management (PSM)
• Execute production runs according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Identify operational bottlenecks or equipment failures and assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Document and communicate shift data and technical challenges to the Operations Lead

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in biochemical or specialty chemical manufacturing
• Experience in brownfield or greenfield startup environments preferred
• Hands-on experience with upstream aerobic/anaerobic fermentation, aseptic processing, or downstream purification
• Strong understanding of plant operations, fluid dynamics, and reading P&IDs or PFDs
• Ability to work full-time on-site on a shift schedule
