Plant Manager - Wind

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of a utility-scale wind power plant
• Ensure strict compliance with all company and project environmental, health, and safety programs
• Oversee crew safety training and conduct periodic safety assessments
• Negotiate and administer third-party contracts and warranties
• Manage the implementation of capital improvement programs and retrofits
• Supervise crews performing operations, maintenance, and warranty activities
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly profit and loss reporting
• Perform staffing activities, including coaching, training, and performance evaluations
• Review and approve root cause analyses for major equipment failures

Requirements

• Four-year college degree or technical school certificate (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• At least 5 years of related experience or power industry training
• Demonstrated experience in power plant operations and maintenance
• Ability to climb 80-meter steel towers on a daily basis
• Ability to work around low and medium voltage and in adverse weather conditions
• Weight must not exceed 285 lbs (excluding equipment/gear) when performing job-related tasks
• Advanced computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and management systems
• Valid driver's license
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, including crane and rigging requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience specifically in wind plant operations and wind turbine technology
• Experience in high voltage maintenance and switching
• Experience establishing and improving preventative maintenance programs
• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Ability to navigate a highly matrixed reporting structure
