Plant Manager, Engineering Operations

About the Company

Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy through the commercialization of fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactors (FHR).

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction progress to ensure implementation per approved designs
• Identify and resolve potential operating issues during construction
• Develop teams for plant equipment punch listing
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews
• Develop hiring plans and manage production engineers and operators
• Develop operating procedures, QA/QC, and Management of Change procedures
• Lead process commissioning efforts and system handover packages
• Develop commissioning, unit start-up, and plant start-up schedules
• Manage procurement of materials required for start-up

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• 10+ years of experience managing operations for newly constructed chemical plants
• 5+ years of supervisory experience managing up to 30 direct reports
• Proven success managing operations in complex chemical plants handling hazardous materials
• Experience commissioning complex chemical plants

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical Production, or Factory Manufacturing industries
• Experience handling various chemicals such as acids, bases, or toxic chemicals
