Plant Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the plant's preventative maintenance program
• Minimize downtime by maintaining equipment in operable condition and managing emergency repairs
• Monitor maintenance department performance and provide coaching and correction
• Enforce safe work practices and document/investigate all accidents within the department
• Ensure new maintenance employees are properly trained through comprehensive schedules
• Oversee the submission of required boiler and fire protection reports
• Mentor the maintenance manager to ensure efficient equipment repairs and work assignments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of engineering or maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment
• At least 3 years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing plant
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and possess strong electrical skills
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and AIB standards
• Bilingual English/Spanish (Required)
• Strong leadership, computer, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Quality Systems or Lean Manufacturing
• Experience with SAP
