Plant Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to increase plant availability, reduce production costs, and improve quality
• Ensure strict adherence to EH&S policies, including management of change and risk assessments
• Monitor, track, and report critical success factors to satisfy site goals and management requests
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks or eliminate obstacles to process improvements
• Work with operations and maintenance to ensure optimal project success and equipment commonality
• Create work orders to improve the safety, quality, and reliability of plant processes
• Support audits and participate in continuous improvement activities such as 5S, KPIs, and Root Cause analysis

Requirements

• BS in Chemical Engineering or another Engineering degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience in the chemical industry preferred
• Knowledge of plant processing, equipment, and multi-engineering disciplines
• Understanding of instrument and process control systems, including DCS and PLCs
• Knowledge of optimization techniques and Lean Manufacturing concepts (5S, Kaizen, TPM)
• Ability to identify opportunities for supply improvements, reliability, and throughput
• Understanding of basic financial concepts relevant to project development
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, plan, organize, and document project requirements
