Plant Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to increase plant availability, reduce production costs, and improve quality
• Ensure strict adherence to EH&S policies, including management of change and risk assessments
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks or eliminate obstacles to site improvements
• Monitor, track, and report critical success factors to satisfy management requests and site goals
• Work with operations and maintenance on projects involving plant assets to ensure optimal success and training
• Create work orders for equipment needs to improve safety, quality, and process reliability
• Support audits and participate in continuous improvement activities such as 5S, KPIs, and Root Cause analysis

Requirements

• BS in Chemical Engineering or another Engineering degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience in the chemical industry preferred
• Knowledge of plant processing, equipment, and multi-engineering disciplines
• Understanding of the integration of instrument and process control systems
• Fundamental knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS), PLCs, and general instrumentation controls
• Knowledge of optimization techniques and basic financial concepts relevant to project development
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, plan, organize, and document project requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Kaizens, and TPM
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and SAP
