About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the plant manager in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Air Separation production plant
- Investigate technical and operational issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence
- Monitor plant efficiencies and engineer solutions for improved performance
- Create and review technical documentation including PHAs, P&IDs, MOCs, and SOPs
- Manage minor projects such as upgrades, retrofits, and plant expansions
- Develop designs, cost estimates, and economic justifications for plant improvements
- Promote safe work behaviors and assist with safety incident investigations using root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field
- 5 years of process engineering experience
- Engineer registered with the O.I.Q. (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec)
- Knowledge of cryogenic plants and oxygen systems
- Knowledge of compressors, instrumentation, and controls
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the industrial or specialty gas business
- Advanced analytical ability and problem resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to define, design, and implement projects based on technical requirements
