Plant Buyer

Responsibilities

• Execute purchase orders for assigned raw materials and monitor delivery status
• Follow up on late, at-risk, or incomplete purchase orders and communicate impacts to site stakeholders
• Issue supplier non-conformances for quality or delivery discrepancies
• Perform raw material transactional corrections and basic inventory verification
• Support cycle count accuracies and annual physical inventory processes
• Assist with inter-site transfer coordination to balance raw material levels
• Support efforts to reduce demurrage and detention through timely follow-up and dock alignment
• Adhere to all safety policies and participate in required safety training

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
• Bachelor's degree or four years of work experience in purchasing, scheduling, buying, operations, or clerical roles
• At least one year of experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or scheduling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, or Lean Manufacturing
• Prior experience using MRP (Material Resource Planning) and MPS (Material Production Scheduling) systems
• Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
• Proficiency with planning software such as QAD, Oracle, or SAP
