Planning Section Chief

Responsibilities

• Supervise the collection and collation of all planning documents, including Incident Action Plans and Situation Reports
• Establish information reporting requirements and deadlines
• Coordinate technical planning staff support for weather and mapping data
• Facilitate SEOC Briefings, County Coordination Calls, and other necessary meetings
• Develop and disseminate Situation Reports, Flash Reports, and other required reports
• Establish and maintain an event chronology and maintain battle rhythm on WebEOC
• Develop division and agency emergency plans and standard operating procedures
• Communicate observations and recommendations for improvement to program areas

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or applicable field
• 2+ years experience in emergency management planning and project management
• Experience working within the Incident Command Framework at state or federal levels
• Experience in an Emergency Operations Center or disaster response with at least 2 activations/exercises in a supervisory capacity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel
• Completion of required training: IS-100, IS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, IS-700, IS-800, E/G/L-0191, E/L-0958, O-0305
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance/Accounting, Emergency Management, or a related field
• Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certification
• Proficiency with Salesforce and WebEOC
• ICS position-specific certification
• Five or more years of professional experience in emergency management
