About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate renewable product planning, scheduling, and reconciliation for the Martinez Renewables joint venture.
- Manage product logistics across distribution channels including tank inventory, pipelines, vessels, trucks, and rail.
- Optimize dock scheduling and daily inventory positioning to ensure alignment with commercial objectives.
- Communicate short-term production forecasts to joint venture partners and support reporting.
- Act as Product Quality Coordinator to ensure compliance with renewable product specifications.
- Develop and maintain refinery production and inventory plans using scheduling tools like Aspen Petroleum Scheduler.
- Identify operational and logistical constraints to drive process unit rate targets and operational efficiency.
- Interface with Operations, Technical, Commercial, and JV stakeholders to align execution with site plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or process/operations engineering within refining, petrochemical, or heavy industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC Card and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work a 5/40 or 9/80 schedule, including handling after-hours phone calls and supporting turnarounds (TAR) when needed.
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE and perform physical tasks in a refinery environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with refinery planning and scheduling tools such as ASPEN APS.
- Familiarity with linear programming (LP) models and refinery optimization workflows.
- Experience with product quality management and blending optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data to drive performance improvements.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Technical Services, and Commercial teams.
