About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all system users and network outages impacting the distribution network from two years ahead up to day-ahead timescales.
- Apply high technical standards to network outage planning for the Distribution network.
- Work with System Operators and transmission network planners to ensure the network remains safe and secure.
- Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to secure customers during major planned work on the Transmission & Distribution network.
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with major customers and business areas across Energy Networks.
- Assist the Control Room with the delivery of all planned Distribution outages.
Requirements
- Engineering qualification (Electrical Engineering preferred) at Degree or HNC level.
- Significant relevant experience in an operational role.
- Knowledge of PowerOn and PI systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis tools and techniques, including load flow and contingency analysis.
- Strong understanding of Company Safety Rules and procedures for working on HV electrical equipment.
- Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Ability to devise solutions to complex technical problems and challenges.
