About the role
Responsibilities
- Research, collaborate with the community, and prepare plans to improve the city's physical, social, cultural, and economic environment.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret social, economic, and engineering data for community development programs.
- Create maps and reports for planning purposes to promote optimum land utilization and urban design.
- Establish reports and plans regarding urban and community issues.
- Prepare cases for the Plan Board, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Landmarks Commission.
- Work independently or as part of a team with neighborhood groups, City staff, and various agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a PAB-approved college; OR
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Geography, Historic Preservation, or a closely related field plus one year of professional experience in a relevant agency or firm.
- Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using ESRI products.
