About the role
Responsibilities
- Initiate, plan, and coordinate work orders for the repair, maintenance, and addition of University Facilities.
- Act as a liaison between the Department of Transportation Services and campus community departments to address facility requests.
- Ensure service calls are completed within appropriate timeframes and provide feedback to requesters.
- Oversee preventive maintenance on assigned facilities to ensure effective and timely completion.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of work required to keep parking lots and decks up to standard.
- Provide timely estimating services for the evaluation of project requests.
- Review new construction and alteration design drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with Grounds and Custodial Supervisors to improve services for assigned facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in institutional project work or the maintenance field.
- Proven ability to read blueprints and write technical specifications.
- Ability to develop project costs and write project justifications.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and industry-standard software.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ten years of experience in building trades.
- Minimum of five years of extensive experience in the mechanical or electrical repair and maintenance field.
