Plane Captain

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and turnaround aircraft inspections according to established procedures
• Launch and recover aircraft, serving as a taxi director during operations
• Tow aircraft and act as a brake rider when required
• Conduct aircraft fuel sampling and servicing
• Tie down and cover aircraft utilizing established procedures
• Ensure compliance with FOD, Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control programs
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work center and ensure safety of government equipment
• Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to employees as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in aviation maintenance or flight line operations
• Valid Driver’s License
• US Citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret US Government Clearance
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform manual labor (climbing, bending, stooping, crawling)
• Ability to work all assigned shifts and schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with F-18E/F, EA-18G, E-2C, and/or MH-60S aircraft
• Licensing on support equipment such as tow tractors, nitrogen servicing carts, or engine start units
• Training in Operational Risk Management (ORM), FOD/TCP Awareness, or Hazardous Waste Communications
