About the role
Responsibilities
- Integrate ShotGrid toolkit workflows with tools such as Unreal Editor, Maya, Houdini, and Nuke
- Develop and maintain custom tools, templates, and scripts for Game Development, VFX, and Production teams
- Design and evolve department pipelines for 3D asset creation, production automation, and real-time workflows
- Create Python or C++ plugins and extensions for platforms including Unreal Engine, Maya, Blender, and Adobe CC
- Design user interfaces for automation tools and asset management
- Collaborate with technical supervisors and non-technical users to define requirements and solve production problems
- Follow software development life cycle processes, including build/release, documentation, and testing
- Support users across Windows, MacOS, and Linux environments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Visualization, VFX, or equivalent experience
- 3-6 years of professional experience developing artist/pipeline tools with ShotGrid in animation, gaming, or VFX
- Deep understanding of the VFX pipeline (modeling, texturing, animation, lighting, rendering, compositing)
- Proven technical experience in VFX, Virtual Production, or AAA Gaming
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and PySide/PyQt/Qt
- Experience with Unreal Engine Blueprints and C++ development
- Experience with version control (Git, GitLab, or BitBucket) and CI/CD
- Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
- Ability to design user interfaces and gizmos for VFX tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with shader development, GLSL, and real-time rendering technologies
- Familiarity with Linux container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with LLMs or Generative AI
