Pipefitter

Responsibilities

• Profile and shape pipes and components using handheld power tools and mechanical cutting machines
• Prepare, assemble, and fit piping systems including bolted clamps, flanges, and threaded pipes
• Work with various materials including steel, stainless, and exotic pipes
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure accuracy
• Test and commission pipework and systems
• Perform inspections of parts and sub-assemblies to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality
• Maintain high safety standards and adhere to ISO quality, environmental, and health and safety management systems
• Work collaboratively with other trades and pipefitters within the fabrication yard

Requirements

• Time-served fabricator with experience in a fabrication yard or similar structural environment
• Relevant qualification such as an NVQ, City & Guilds, or an indentured apprenticeship
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documents
• Knowledge of dimensional control techniques
• Experience operating overhead cranes and lifting equipment
• Ability to work comfortably at heights and in confined spaces
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping
