Pipefitter

Responsibilities

• Select pipe types and sizes and related materials according to job specifications
• Inspect worksites for obstructions and plan installation sequences
• Cut, thread, and bend pipe using various manual and machine tools
• Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings
• Assemble and install metal or nonmetal pipes using various jointing methods
• Install and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges
• Weld pipe supports to structural steel members
• Operate powered equipment and work at heights using aerial lifts
• Comply with all safety, project, and company rules

Requirements

• Experience as a Pipefitter
• Ability to work at heights using aerial lifts
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, cutting torches, and threading machines
• Ability to read and follow job specifications
