Pipe Fitter

Responsibilities

• Review design specifications and blueprints to determine the layout of piping systems
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using saws, torches, and threaders
• Assemble and secure pipe systems to walls and structural steel using brackets, clamps, hangers, and welding equipment
• Connect pipes using welding, soldering, brazing, fusing, or cementing joints
• Run pressure tests and inspections on installed systems to ensure compliance with safety codes
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and repair or replace broken pipes, valves, and supports

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pipe fitting
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience performing services within a government facility
• Understanding of workplace safety guidelines and building codes
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials, climb scaffolding, and work in cramped or high environments
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding)
• Ability to pass a government background check
