About the role
Responsibilities
- Process chemical products using batch sheet instructions and set up raw materials in the development lab.
- Operate chemical processing equipment and instrumentation according to engineering diagrams.
- Collect samples and conduct lab analyses, such as colorimetric titrations and viscosity measurements.
- Load and unload material containers including pails, drums, bags, and totes.
- Clean and prepare equipment, including performing Lock Out Tag Out prior to maintenance.
- Track and record process information, production data, and technical findings.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processes to recommend improvements.
- Perform safety audits, inspections, and general housekeeping (5S).
- Participate in the plant emergency response team (ERT).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or the chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of hazardous materials and safety procedures (MSDS, JSA’s, etc.).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and move drums via dolly weighing up to 500 lbs.
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift (Monday – Thursday, 7pm-7am).
- Willingness to wear SCBA and maintain a clean-shaven appearance for respirator usage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous chemical operating experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of chemistry and chemical hazards.
- Experience with SAP.
- Previous forklift experience.
