About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess clients referred to the BC Brain Wellness Program, focusing on physical function, balance, motor symptoms, and the impact of non-motor symptoms.
- Implement physiotherapy and exercise-based interventions to mitigate disease progression and improve quality of life.
- Oversee the intake process and the stratification of clients into appropriate group exercise programs.
- Provide mentoring and supervision to students, kinesiologists, exercise physiologists, and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records using the Jane EMR system.
- Collaborate with referring physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure client-centered care.
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical research initiatives.
Requirements
- Registration in good standing with the College of Health Care Professionals of BC.
- Eligibility for membership with the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia.
- Clinical experience in neurological disease care.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Zoom.
- Experience with Jane EMR.
- Valid First Aid and CPR C certification.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in a clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of related clinical experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster interprofessional collaboration.
- Ability to communicate compassionately with individuals living with neurological diseases.
- Experience with Workday and database management.
