About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement individualized physical treatment programs to improve patient quality of life and restore physical functioning
  • Conduct initial screenings and formal/informal assessments of patients' physical, functional, psychosocial, and cognitive status
  • Gather patient information through interviews, observation, and review of health records
  • Collaborate with interprofessional team members during rounds, clinics, and case management meetings
  • Communicate clinical impressions and diagnoses to patients, care partners, and the healthcare team
  • Coordinate the education of students, learners, and hospital staff
  • Participate in research studies and monitor quality indicators to ensure excellence in physiotherapy services
  • Critically appraise and implement outcome measures to assess intervention effectiveness

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Science (Physiotherapy) or a recognized equivalent
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Minimum of one year of related professional experience
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of critical care, acute surgical, and general medicine patients
  • Experience with oxygen titration and suctioning
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
