About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement individualized treatment programs to restore physical functioning and cardio-respiratory health
- Conduct initial screenings and formal/informal assessments of patients' physical, functional, psychosocial, and cognitive status
- Gather patient information through interviews, observation, and review of health records
- Collaborate with interprofessional team members during rounds, clinics, and case management meetings
- Communicate clinical impressions and diagnoses to patients, care partners, and the healthcare team
- Implement modifications to treatment programs based on changing patient needs
- Participate in the education of students, hospital staff, and the community
- Lead or participate in research studies and monitor quality indicators for the clinical unit
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Science (Physiotherapy) or a recognized equivalent
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Minimum of one year of related clinical experience
- Proven experience in the assessment and treatment of critical care, acute surgical, and general medicine patients
- Proficiency in oxygen titration and suctioning skills
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the job
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
