About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding undergraduate instruction for introductory to mid-level physics courses, including both lecture and laboratory components.
- Teach topics such as mechanics, wave phenomena, electricity, magnetism, relativity, and quantum theory.
- Mentor students and support their academic success through student-centered pedagogy.
- Collaborate with other units within the College of Arts and Sciences and participate in campus science programs and service.
- Utilize a broad range of learning resources and technologies to engage a diverse student population.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Physics or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience or potential for teaching using student-centered pedagogy practices.
- Demonstrated record of supporting, or potential to support, access and opportunity in teaching and service in alignment with WSU's land-grant mission.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience teaching both lecture and laboratory courses.
- Ability to use and develop new teaching approaches that advance the pedagogy of physics.
