About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach Introductory Physics I (mechanics, thermodynamics, waves) and Introductory Physics II (electricity, magnetism, optics, quantum physics) including associated labs
  • Update class syllabi and deliver instruction based on course competencies
  • Use the Learning Management System (LMS) to post assignments, communicate with students, and report grades
  • Hold out-of-class conferences with students as required
  • Submit quarterly assessments and final grades in a timely manner
  • Maintain regular communication with students and fellow faculty members

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a related field or M.S. in the content area
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level
  • Expertise in math, physics, or physical chemistry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to teach in-person on the Charleston, WV campus during daytime hours
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
