Physician Specialist - Oral Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Perform oral and maxillofacial surgery on the mouth, jaws, and related head and neck structures
• Execute complex procedures including difficult extractions, tumor removal, and treating fractured jaws
• Clinically examine, evaluate, and diagnose conditions for patients referred by General Dentists within NJ DOC facilities
• Provide follow-up consultations and specialized care for treated patients
• Administer local anesthetics and manage patient care throughout the surgical process
• Collaborate effectively with inmates, dental staff, medical/nursing staff, and correctional personnel

Requirements

• Completed residency and/or fellowship training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
• Board eligible as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon
• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited school of dentistry
• Current New Jersey State Board of Dentistry license
• Valid CDS license and DEA certification
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle or reliable transportation for travel to multiple statewide locations
• Computer literacy
• Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Corrections (DOC) approval
