Physician (Optometrist/Ophthalmologist)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinic-based vision care in an ambulatory clinic setting.
• Work independently and interdependently within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers.
• Perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with credentialing and privileging policies.
• Coordinate patient care with community physicians, specialists, pharmacists, and nurses.
• Assess patient needs and arrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic workups, and inpatient care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation in accordance with company policy.
• Provide patient and family counseling regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment.
• Supervise and train ancillary healthcare staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Participate in Quality Improvement activities and medical staff committee meetings.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified.
• Minimum of 5 years of medical practice experience with progressive administrative responsibilities.
• Current, valid, and unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of South Carolina.
• Current, valid, and unrestricted DEA registration.
• Ability to be continuously insurable by professional malpractice carriers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
