Responsibilities
- Conduct Independent Medical Exams (IME) and Peer Reviews
- Review medical records and address client questions using evidence-based criteria
- Ensure rationale for determinations is clear, concise, and substantiated by documentation
- Return cases on or before mandated due dates
- Maintain proper credentialing, state licenses, and special certifications
- Identify and respond to quality assurance issues, regulatory issues, depositions, or audits
- Utilize current national, state, and professional association guidelines for objective decision-making
- Provide copies of utilized criteria with the report
Requirements
- Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery (Lumbar Spine), Pulmonary Disease, or Pain Management
- Required experience in Workers' Compensation
- Ability to maintain client-mandated turnaround times
Preferred Qualifications
- Current West Virginia medical license
