About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient and peri-operative surgical care with a focus on feeding and nutrition
- Perform pre-operative consultations, physical examinations, and follow-up wound checks
- Execute clinical procedures including rectal biopsies, tube exchanges, rectal dilations, and NG tube placement
- Counsel families and manage longitudinal care for patients in the Rapid Access Nutrition Clinic and other subspecialty clinics
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, dietitians, and pediatric subspecialists
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certification
- Current Michigan Physician Assistant license
- Michigan Controlled Substance License
- At least 1 year of clinical APP experience in pediatric ambulatory care
- Current DEA registration
- AHA approved BLS
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Experience in an ambulatory care setting with a pediatric patient population
- At least 1 year of APP experience in a pediatric surgical service or pediatric GI
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and analytical abilities for medical/surgical interventions
