About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, diagnosing, and managing patient health using the medical model.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic test interpretation.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans incorporating pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Monitor patient progress through follow-up assessments and adjust treatment plans to ensure therapeutic effectiveness.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate seamless transitions throughout the continuum of care.
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all patient encounters and interventions in accordance with hospital policies.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
- Optimize healthcare resource utilization while maintaining high-quality care standards and institutional budgetary goals.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant (MSPA) or Doctor of Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited program.
- Active and unrestricted California licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current board certification or board eligibility by a nationally accredited organization.
- Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate to dispense controlled substances (II-V).
- National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a PA providing care in an acute or ambulatory setting within a specific area of specialty.
- Minimum of one year of experience with acute stroke and other neurovascular emergencies (for Inpatient Specialty Programs).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
