Physician Assistant-Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assessing, diagnosing, and managing patient health using the medical model and evidence-based practices.
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Monitor patient progress through follow-up assessments and adjust treatment plans to ensure therapeutic effectiveness.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate seamless transitions throughout the continuum of care.
• Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all patient encounters, assessments, and interventions in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
• Optimize healthcare resource utilization while maintaining high standards of cost-effective care.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Physician Assistant (MSPA) or Doctor of Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited program.
• Active and unrestricted California licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Current board certification or board eligibility from a nationally accredited organization.
• Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a PA providing care in an acute or ambulatory setting within the assigned specialty.
• Minimum of one year of experience with acute stroke and other neurovascular emergencies (if assigned to Inpatient Specialty Programs).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
