Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (C), CVICU - Regional

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with complex diseases and adverse health conditions under medical director guidance
• Provide comprehensive perioperative management in the Cardiac Surgical ICU, including management of ventilators, sedation, and hemodynamics
• Perform advanced clinical procedures such as central and arterial line placement, pulmonary artery catheter placement, and point-of-care ultrasound
• Conduct daily multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care with various healthcare professionals
• Interpret diagnostic studies and write prescriptions for medications and blood products in accordance with practice protocols
• Manage complex conditions including shock, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative cardiac care
• Participate in Quality and Process Improvement Initiatives and hospital committees

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
• Valid State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
• AHA/ARC BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a specialty clinical setting
• Previous experience in acute care settings
