Physician Assistant

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient appraisals, including health histories and physical examinations.
• Provide direct clinical care, including prescribing medications, ordering therapies, and interpreting laboratory tests or x-rays.
• Manage a mix of surgical and outpatient care, spending three days in the OR and one day in the outpatient clinic.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patient health outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and health management.
• Document all care, procedures, and education provided within the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research pertinent to urology.
• Serve as a mentor and preceptor to graduate students and staff.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in Medicine in the state of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Valid Controlled substance license and DEA registration.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of clinical experience in a urology or related specialty.
