Physician Assistant

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial health assessments of residents to identify medical needs and manage chronic conditions
• Provide immediate care, administer medications, and perform minor procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and shelter staff to implement care plans
• Monitor and manage chronic health conditions in special needs populations
• Educate residents and caregivers on managing health conditions
• Maintain accurate documentation of medical care and health records
• Advocate for the healthcare needs of individuals with disabilities

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited PA program
• Current, full, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state of Florida
• Successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certifications
• Valid DEA License and driver's license
• Ability to respond to a disaster within 24 hours of notice
• Ability to work in austere environments and extreme weather conditions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the treatment of special needs populations
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance regulations related to discharge planning
