About the role
Responsibilities
- Implement therapeutic procedures and interventions as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist in assessing students and developing individual therapy activities and goals
- Contribute to progress reports and collect data for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and evaluations
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with school, state, and federal policies
- Modify and maintain adaptive equipment for positioning and activities of daily living (ADL)
- Instruct educational staff on the use of adaptive equipment and the integration of therapy goals into classroom activities
- Monitor school environments for accessibility and ensure the safe use of equipment
- Attend ARD meetings concerning physical therapy
- Foster student independence, self-worth, and an understanding of individual differences
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant program
- Valid license issued by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
