About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under clinical supervision
- Assist patients with heat/ice packs, paraffin dips, pool entry, and exercise equipment
- Monitor patient motion and physical exertion levels
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on treatment equipment
- Educate patients on proper equipment use and exercise routines
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize equipment and supplies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe working environment
- Handle front desk duties including answering calls and assisting with scheduling
- Manage physical therapy supplies inventory and ordering
Requirements
- Ability to travel to various Suffolk County clinics
- Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology
- Knowledge of therapy equipment and strengthening techniques
- Understanding of patient behavior and needs
- Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient physical conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
