Physical Therapy Aide

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under clinical supervision
• Assist patients with heat/ice packs, paraffin dips, pool entry, and exercise equipment
• Monitor patient motion and physical exertion levels
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on treatment equipment
• Educate patients on proper equipment use and exercise routines
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize equipment and supplies
• Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe working environment
• Handle front desk duties including answering calls and assisting with scheduling
• Manage physical therapy supplies inventory and ordering

Requirements

• Ability to travel to various Suffolk County clinics
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology
• Knowledge of therapy equipment and strengthening techniques
• Understanding of patient behavior and needs
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient physical conditions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
