Physical Therapy Aide

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision
• Assist patients with heat/ice packs, paraffin dips, pool access, and exercise equipment
• Monitor patient motion and physical exertion levels
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on treatment equipment
• Educate patients on proper equipment use and exercise routines
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize equipment and supplies
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients
• Manage physical therapy supplies inventory and ordering
• Provide front desk coverage including scheduling and phone support

Requirements

• Ability to live within 15-20 minutes of the facility
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology
• Knowledge of therapy equipment and strengthening techniques
• Knowledge of patient behavior and needs
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
