About the role
Responsibilities
- Interpret referrals and identify necessary precautions to provide appropriate evaluation and treatment
- Develop individualized, focused treatment plans based on patient functional goals
- Utilize independent clinical decision-making to progress patients and modify treatments based on medical status
- Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to changes in status
- Instruct patients and their families in home treatment programs
- Maintain accurate records of patient evaluation, treatment, and discharge status
- Partner with a physical therapy assistant and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- May conduct research or special projects contributing to teaching materials and procedures
Requirements
- Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) if licensed on or after 2016, or a Bachelor's/MS if licensed prior to 2016
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan
- Ability to undergo Primary Source Verification
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of outpatient orthopedic experience
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Prior experience or interest in Oncology Rehab and Geriatrics
- Strong interest in osteoporosis and balance impairments
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaborative teamwork skills
