About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF)
- Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on patient evaluations
- Administer manual exercises, soft tissue mobilization, and traction to improve function and relieve pain
- Instruct and motivate patients in performing physical activities, including non-manual exercises and the use of assistive devices
- Record treatment, response, and progress in patient charts and automated systems
- Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare staff to integrate physical therapy with overall patient healthcare
- Perform prevention and wellness activities, including education and screening, to promote positive health behaviors
Requirements
- Master's degree in physical therapy (or a Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002)
- Education from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist
- Demonstrated clinical competency as required by service-specific credentialing instructions
