Physical Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess patients with hand and upper extremity conditions to develop and initiate treatment plans
• Review physician referrals and medical records to determine appropriate rehabilitation interventions
• Provide direct patient care following established protocols and guidelines
• Document findings, progress, and patient/caregiver instructions
• Supervise patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians
• Complete written plans of care and develop goal-oriented programs
• Implement physical therapy treatment programs
• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies
• Ensure timely documentation including daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited college with an APTA curriculum
• Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist license
