About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess patients with hand and upper extremity conditions to develop and initiate treatment plans
- Review physician referrals and medical records to determine appropriate rehabilitation interventions
- Provide direct patient care following established protocols and guidelines
- Document findings, progress, and patient/caregiver instructions
- Supervise patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians
- Complete written plans of care and develop goal-oriented programs
- Implement physical therapy treatment programs
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies
- Ensure timely documentation including daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited college with an APTA curriculum
- Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist license
