Physical Therapist Assistant

Responsibilities

• Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Physical Therapist
• Assist the Physical Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ranges of motion, and strength testing
• Coordinate with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on the participants’ individual treatment plans
• Handle scheduling of participants’ treatments, clinical visits, and billing
• Document physical therapy interventions including active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional training of ADLs, and various treatments

Requirements

• PTA associate’s degree from an accredited program
• Valid PTA license, or proof of license eligibility
• Minimum of two years of PTA experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population
• Knowledge necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Outpatient experience
• Acute care experience
• Inpatient experience
• Skilled nursing experience
