About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines
- Implement physical therapy programs and follow developed recovery plans
- Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, massage, and electrical modality treatments
- Perform documentation including daily notes, progress reports, and incident reports
- Instruct and assist patients in learning functional activities like ambulation and daily living tasks
- Fit and train patients in the use of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices
- Measure patient range of motion, vital signs, and body measurements to assist in evaluations
Requirements
- Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant or ability to obtain it in Virginia
- Current CPR certification
- Skills in exercise, sports rehab, and manual-based techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an outpatient setting
