Physical Therapist Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines
• Implement physical therapy programs and follow developed recovery plans
• Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, massage, and electrical modality treatments
• Perform documentation including daily notes, progress reports, and incident reports
• Instruct and assist patients in learning functional activities like ambulation and daily living tasks
• Fit and train patients in the use of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices
• Measure patient range of motion, vital signs, and body measurements to assist in evaluations

Requirements

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant or ability to obtain it in Virginia
• Current CPR certification
• Skills in exercise, sports rehab, and manual-based techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an outpatient setting
