About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care following established protocols and guidelines
- Perform timely documentation including daily notes and progress reports
- Administer therapeutic exercises, massage, and electrical modality treatments
- Administer traction to relieve neck and back pain
- Instruct and assist patients with functional activities like ambulation and daily living
- Observe patients and report progress to the Physical Therapist and Clinical Director
- Fit and train patients in the use of orthopedic braces and supportive devices
- Collaborate with the physical therapy staff to evaluate and modify treatment programs
- Measure range of motion, body girth, and vital signs
Requirements
- Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant or ability to obtain it in Virginia
- Current CPR certification
- Skills in exercise, sports rehab, and manual therapy
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an outpatient setting
