Physical Therapist Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care following established protocols and guidelines
• Perform timely documentation including daily notes and progress reports
• Administer therapeutic exercises, massage, and electrical modality treatments
• Administer traction to relieve neck and back pain
• Instruct and assist patients with functional activities like ambulation and daily living
• Observe patients and report progress to the Physical Therapist and Clinical Director
• Fit and train patients in the use of orthopedic braces and supportive devices
• Collaborate with the physical therapy staff to evaluate and modify treatment programs
• Measure range of motion, body girth, and vital signs

Requirements

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant or ability to obtain it in Virginia
• Current CPR certification
• Skills in exercise, sports rehab, and manual therapy

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an outpatient setting
