Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and functional activities
• Apply physical modalities including heat, cold therapy, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound
• Document patient progress and treatment sessions in electronic health records
• Assist patients in managing pain and regaining mobility following injuries or surgeries
• Monitor and supervise the aquatic therapy program and patient safety protocols
• Perform patient intake assessments, vital signs monitoring, and range of motion measurements
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment adhering to infection control standards
• Communicate effectively with supervising physical therapists regarding treatment modifications

Requirements

• Graduate from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Current state licensure
• CPR certification
• Basic PC skills including EMR systems and MS Office
• Ability to work effectively in an autonomous environment
